The salmon bite has not been red hot out of Bodega Bay this last few weeks but I did get a hot tip about some good bottom fishing. Ghost II took a trip to Jurassic Park this morning to mess with some prehistoric toothy critters. We found these lingcod chomping out in the deep. All the fish came on Pitbull Tackle swim baits. The hot color was the 8” purple back clear flake tail with a glow head fished by Jen who had the hot stick on the boat. After boating 14 lingcod to 15lbs before 10am we went on the hunt for salmon. Unfortunately the salmon did not want anything to do with us. We had 1 drive by bite but nothing to show for it. The weather was very good with a small swell and small to moderate wind all day. Mostly clear with fog banks rolling through the area. Shout out to a great group who I enjoyed fishing with and I hope to see them back later this summer for some great salmon action.
