A week of Lingcod

Ghost was out this week on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Captain Aaron and crew Vince took clients south of the harbor in an attempt to intercept northbound salmon this time of year. Unfortunately salmon was not on the menu out of Bodega Bay this week. Fortunately the bottom fishing remains excellent and each trip we were able to catch lingcod and large grade rockfish on Pitbull Tackle swim baits. The largest lingcod of the week was caught by local legend Bob Colwell. Bob always catches his fish in style. Sunglasses on, cigar hanging from his ample beard Bob had the hot stick and it seemed he was always hooked up.

The weather this week was overall quite good. Thursday had a little chop from a persistent cold south wind but the swell stayed down all week. Salmon closes at the beginning of June and reopens June 23rd. In the mean time we will continue to chase the big toothy fish living along our coast. If you enjoy swim bait fishing you may want to sign up this June for some lingcod action on board Ghost II. Call us at (707)971-0847
